24-hour Answering Service

MCDL has an “in-house” Answering Service that is staffed 24 hours per day/7 days per week. The Answering Service was initially established in 1980 to provide the physicians of Medical City with a service that would understand and meet their needs. The reputation of providing outstanding service spread within the medical community and in 1990, the Medical City Answering Service began allowing physicians with offices outside of Medical City to use the service. The staff understands that they represent the physicians’ office to the caller. Additionally, they know the importance of taking accurate messages and delivering them to the right person at the right time.

Medical City Answering Service operators are equipped with the most current computer systems. Every time a call is received, the equipment presents detailed information to the operators about the physician and directions for responding to a call. The service includes:

  • Internet capabilities – allowing messages to be e-mailed to a cell phone or pager
  • Completed messages are forwarded to the physicians’ office via fax
  • If desired, a customized auto-attendant greeting is available to give office hours & any other pertinent information tenant may want the caller to hear
  • The computer system and staff keep track of the most complicated on-call schedules, including those that change daily
  • Physicians may lease a pager through the service. Pagers are maintained by the service; therefore, equipment problems are handled by calling the service

While we consider that any physician using the service is a reference, a list will be provided upon request. A contract is not required to join the service.
